Gerard
Cote
brings to Swift Shot a wealth of experience in the disciplines
of process design and systems management. Prior to founding Swift Shot,
Gerard was Vice President of Business Automation at web-hosting leader,
Inflow Inc. His expertise helped propel the company from six to 600
employees and 18 nationwide locations in two years. In addition to process
and systems, Gerard has had extensive exposure to business management,
statistical analysis, customer satisfaction research/consulting, marketing
and finance/budgeting. Coupled with this practical experience is an
MBA from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where Gerard focused
on Entrepreneurship and Technology Management. Gerard also holds a B.A.
in Economics from Carleton College in Northfield, MN.
As for sports, Gerard's
enthusiasm comes from his own life as a competitive athlete. Growing
up, he played football, basketball and track. A little-known fact is
that Gerard was, at one time, the "Fastest Guy in Montana".
His blazing 100-meter-dash state high school record stood un-touched
for four years. In college, Gerard competed in football and track. He
earned several national placements, numerous conference titles and many
awards in both sports. Now, when he isn't spending time with his wife
and baby boy, Gerard enjoys recreational basketball and softball, as
well as skiing, hiking and mountain biking.
Toby
Hemmerling
started his career
as an entrepreneur when he turned a strawberry stand at his elementary
school’s summer fair into a financial success. Most recently,
Toby was the CEO of Blue Sky West, an adventure tourism company he founded
in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. As a successful entrepreneur Toby has
the ability to get a company from A to B, and all the way to Z. His
life-long passion for sports and photography were a key element of the
birth of Swift Shot, and his vision drives the company's creative direction.
Toby holds an B.A
in English Literature from McGill University in Canada, an M.A. in Wilderness
Risk Management, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Leeds School
of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
In addition to his
passion for adventure sports that has taken him climbing, mountaineering,
and skiing all over Europe, Canada and the US, Toby enjoyed a successful
career as an endurance athlete. As a x-country skier in High School
he won the Provincial Championships, and followed that achievement by
representing Team Canada at the Mountain Biking World Championship in
1994. Today, Toby continues to be active as a recreational mountain
biker and skier, and, most recently, adventure racer.
